Dunno if I put this in the right category at all, lol.
This is my most recent work in this field, a light study. It was done in 15 minutes using a small metal bust of... um... whoever the heck president that was. This is not a finished drawing. The way Guy teaches classes, he gives you a certain amount of time to do the thing, ranging from 5 minutes to as little as 30 seconds. (seriously.) This teaches you to not sweat the small stuff and not kill yourself over details that dont actually matter and actually you end up drawing way more accurately. Before I did this, we had done 8 of the same exercise, except we only got 5 minutes and 4 busts, and each bust was drawn twice. This specific lesson was to get the face drawn loosely and quickly and not try too hard to make it look like the guy. Then go into detail with the shading, but to do it quickly once again. The amazing thing about it is that it starts really looking like the guy once it's haded, even if the lines did not. (This is a reason it's so hard to draw characters like Darth Vader- they just don't look themselves without heavy shading!)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
